World wants Obama as president

US Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama may be struggling to nudge ahead of his Republican rival in polls at home, but people across the world want him in the White House, a BBC poll said.

All 22 countries covered in the poll would prefer to see Senator Obama elected US president ahead of Republican John McCain.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we, more or less, tell the rest of the world to pound sand some time ago? What with the whole emigrating to the US, leaving the "old world" behind? Does it shock me that the rest of the world wants Obama? Not in the least. Hell, if you're planning on mugging somebody, you chose the one least likely to put up a fight. It's Human Behaviour 101. Do you think for one moment the rest of the world has our best interest at heart? Hell no. They want a lightweight bantamweight they can get in an endless loop of Keep Away with.

"Large numbers of people around the world clearly like what Barack Obama represents," GlobeScan chairman Doug Miller said.

Yeah, Marxism. It's worked so bloody well for the rest of the world, why not give it a chance to fail here as well? Misery, after all, loves company.
