"The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin. When all is orderly, he does not forget that disorder may come. Thus his person is not endangered, and his States and all their clans are preserved." -- Confucius

Marriage of Convenience

We've all heard that term before, but I'm not sure what to call Congressman Charlie Rangel putting a stop to the divorce he filed for back in Feb of last year. Undivorce of Convenience? Let's see, after it came to light that a man in charge of writing our tax codes didn't know he had to pay taxes on his Punta Cana Yacht Club villa (can we stop with the 'the Democrats are protecting the little guys from the fat cats' crap now?) he deftly threw his wife under the bus for not filing their taxes properly. Funny how many loved ones are finding themselves chucked under the bus by Democrats this year.

Now that the fecal matter has hit the rotary cooling device, and that it looks as if there's a possibility (however remote) that he might have to answer for this, he's decided to hang on to his wife. Could it be he's had a change of heart and found renewed love for his bride of forty-two years? Or could it be that spouses can't be compelled to testify against their wives/husbands? If I were Mrs. Rangel, and I thank every deity in Heaven and Earth that I'm not, I wouldn't need to be compelled to drop the dime on this guy.
