"The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin. When all is orderly, he does not forget that disorder may come. Thus his person is not endangered, and his States and all their clans are preserved." -- Confucius

The Hypocrisy of Hope

During the first Presidential Debate last night I kept screaming at the television. And this is why...

Every time Sen. Obama coughed up his tired McCain=Bush crap and trying to hang the current economic meltdown on the "failed economic policies of the last eight years", Sen. McCain should have slapped him down with the facts about what, and who, is actually to blame. Chiefly, sen. Obama himself and his naive socialist "fairness" mindset.

From uh... Sergeant... uh... uh... from the mother of uh...

Can we say "poseur" boys and girls? Now, I understand that Democrats, at least the ones from the flaming leftist wing of the party, can't be honest about who they are and what they stand for and, by necessity, need to affect the mannerisms and actions of those most people won't find utterly repellent but seriously. It's a good thing Sen. Obama's had so many people so willing to give him so many passes for so long, otherwise he might have this bullcrap act down as well as his ability to read a teleprompter and spout populist bumperstickers and we wouldn't catch these telling glimpses.

Biden says ad that mocked McCain was 'terrible'

AP - Obama, McCain's Democratic rival, launched the ad earlier this month, part of an aggressive push to slow McCain's rise in the polls after he chose Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running mate. It included unflattering footage of Sen. McCain at a hearing in the early '80s, wearing giant glasses and an out-of-style suit, interspersed with shots of a disco ball, a clunky phone, an outdated computer and a Rubik's Cube.

"He admits he still doesn't know how to use a computer, can't send an e-mail, still doesn't understand the economy, and favors $200 billion in new tax cuts for corporations, but almost nothing for the middle class," the ad says.

Way to be on top of things there Associated Press. You hacks. Not only are you weeks late on this story, and are only covering it to make Sen. Biden look good (good friggin' luck with that task there Sisyphus), you conveniently neglected to mention to whole bit about the reason he doesn't use the computer (nevermind that he pioneered the use of internet as an election campaign tool that Team Obama is making... er... use of) or email is because he suffered prolonged torture (read: not panties on the head or naked pig-piles, but actual torture) in the service of our nation.

UPDATE: Biden Backs Down

I was asked about an ad I’d never seen, reacting merely to press reports. As I said right then, I knew there was nothing intentionally personal in the criticism of Senator McCain’s views which look backwards not forwards and are out of touch with the new economic challenges we face today. Having now reviewed the ad, it is even more clear to me that given the disgraceful tenor of Senator McCain’s ads and their persistent falsehoods, his campaign is in no position to criticize, especially when they continue to distort Barack’s votes on an issue as personal as keeping kids safe from sexual predators.

And the boulder rolls back down the hill.

Born Alive...

Look, I've never been wholly one side or the other in the pro-life/pro-choice debate but there is something about Gianna Jessen and her message that I just can't shake. I mean, sure, it's a perfect illustration of what a scumbag Sen. Obama is and always has been but there's something more here. When someone can sit there and tell you how she was burned alive from the inside out in an attempt to kill her, you simply have to listen.
